OC Library’s Laptop Lending Program
Students attending at least one class at Oxnard College in a given semester are eligible to checkout a Laptop. While they are in a student’s possession they are treated as their own personal laptops in order to accommodate their learning needs. At the end of the semester these devices are returned and may be extended if a student continues attending at least one class at Oxnard College the following semester. All they need are a form of identification, proof of enrollment at Oxnard College, and a signed Technology Contract form.
Beginning the 2024/2025 school year, OC students are required to pay a $25 fee to rent laptops for the semester.
The cost of textbooks and supplies is quite high, perhaps the largest educational expense for each Oxnard College student. When added up, the total cost may be the determining factor if students choose to pursue their educational dreams or make an alternative decision.
The Library Learning Resource Center has 1,000 laptops in its inventory.
The OC Foundation is partnering with the OC Library Learning Resource Center to hopefully remove the financial barrier currently challenging students to maximize their learning potential.
