We’re seeking to full the position of Senior Marketplace Coordinator, who is a member of the Foundation staff and reports directly to the Executive Director.

We are proud to share that The Community Marketplace has grown in the past two years and is positioned for continued success by adding to the team a Senior Marketplace Coordinator. Help manage over 100 vendors’ rent space so they can sell household items, personal care products, recreation equipment, clothing, flowers, produce, and food. For our community, this is the place to be on Sundays with over 85% of the near 200 vendor spaces are rented on a regular basis. To continue this momentum, as Senior Marketplace Coordinator you will have the staff support and resources to guide the Marketplace towards greater success.

Position Responsibilities

  • Manage the Community Marketplace as director of operations.
  • Assist Executive Director with the hire, fire, orient, train, and supervise Marketplace employees.
  • Accept and process vendor rent payments.
  • Track all vendor participation.
  • Interface with fire and police to maintain a safe environment.
  • Interface with Oxnard College to maintain calendars and address concerns and opportunities.
  • Organize the logistics of the Market to ensure that the event has the appropriate security, set up, clean up and that the event is adequately staffed and operated.
  • Ensure the implementation of changes to market operations as requested by the Foundation Board, the advisory board, and the supervising manager.
  • Track vendor information to ensure compliance with District policies and local/state regulations that govern the ability of vendors to sell items at the swap market.
  • Register, orient, and guide new vendors.
  • Process vendor payments/registration fees.
  • Monitor Market activity to resolve issues and ensure the event is compliant with local/state regulations and District policies.
  • Monitor vendor waiting lists to accommodate requests to sell items at the market.
  • Collect data to prepare reports related, but not limited to, to market activity, market financials, effectiveness, budget, and revenue.
  • Provide lead direction to unclassified market staff to organize the collection of fees and the setup and tear down of all event equipment.
  • Develop work schedules for unclassified staff and volunteers.
  • Enter working hours into time keeping system.
  • Assist to prepare and monitor the annual budget, reviews purchase requisitions, reviews requests for the use of budgetary funds, reconciles accounts, and processes invoices for payment.
  • Maintain the office and swap market supply inventory to ensure all supplies are available in working conditions and orders supplies as necessary.
  • Prepare the agenda and minutes for any market meetings and supports the advisory committee work.
  • Promote the Marketplace to increase the number of patrons and vendors.
  • Post social messages on Facebook and Instagram
  • Perform related duties as assigned.
