The 2023/2024 academic year launched a new workforce education initiative, created by rock band Metallica’s Foundation, All Within My Hands (AWMH). Oxnard College was selected for a Metallica Scholars grant to support students in Fire Technology, Culinary Arts, and Dental Hygiene. Metallica Scholars is a major workforce education initiative that provides direct support to community colleges to enhance their career and technical education programs.
Noting the positive results generated from its initial donation, Metallica’s foundation is contributing $50k this year – hoping to make an even bigger impact on student success with additional donations from the OC community.
All Metallica Scholars donations provide scholarships for students enrolled in three of our distinguished career programs, who need financial assistance to complete their studies and become licensed professionals.
