Scholarships play an invaluable role in enabling students to remove financial barriers from pursuing educational dreams. The OC Foundation awards roughly $250,000 in scholarship grants each year. There are many outside scholarship opportunities which Oxnard College students can apply. The list below has been reviewed and deemed legitimate by Foundation staff.

Local Scholarships

Ventura County Community Foundation Scholarships – The scholarship program is made possible thanks to the generosity and commitment of donors, including individuals, corporations, and organizations. VCCF primarily awards scholarships to Ventura County students who are pursuing higher education and/or career training. The VCCF Scholarship Program opens doors of educational opportunity for students of all ages. We firmly believe that by affording access to higher education to individuals, our entire community is strengthened. A scholarship is more than a financial award—it is the key that unlocks the future for deserving students by building their confidence and removing obstacles that stand in the way of success.

Edison Scholars – The Edison Scholars Program recognizes students who want to be makers of tomorrow — the dreamers, inventors, guardians and pioneers — those who dare to be great. Edison International will award $50,000 college scholarships to 30 high school seniors to help them follow their dreams in science, technology, engineering or math (STEM) and empower them to change the world. This is a chance for students with big dreams to advance their education and take part in shaping a Clean Energy future. Rotary of Oxnard Mental Health Practitioner Scholarship – One $2,500 scholarship will be awarded to a graduate of Oxnard College who has demonstrated high academic achievement, and who intends to continue baccalaureate studies at a university, preparing for a career in the field of mental health and emotional well-being – one of the 2023-24 priorities of Rotary International.

Premier America Foundation Youth Scholarships – $2,000 merit-based scholarships to eligible students for the Fall term of 2024. Eligible recipients are those student leaders who demonstrate courage, strength and wisdom as shown by community impact through volunteer service. Applicants should have a demonstrated track record of strong academic performance, exemplary leadership, drive, integrity, and a heart for service. California Legislative Central Coast Caucus Foundation – The CLCCCF is pleased to invite California Central Coast students from the following counties to apply for an educational scholarship of $3,000: Santa Cruz, Monterey, San Luis Obispo, Santa Barbara, Ventura. At least one scholarship will be awarded to a student in each county.

To be eligible for scholarship consideration, prospective candidates must meet the following requirements:
• Students who consider the California Central Coast their home in one of the following counties: Santa Cruz, Monterey, San Luis Obispo, Santa Barbara, or Ventura.
• Be a full-time student (undergraduate or graduate) in good academic standing at an accredited college or university, OR
• Be a graduating high school senior with written proof of acceptance at an accredited institution of higher learning.
• Have a minimum grade point average (GPA) of 2.5 out of 4.0
• Submit a completed application along with all required supplementary documents by the application deadline.
