An outstanding group of leaders will discuss the large and rapidly growing economic contribution of Latinos on April 17 in the Oxnard College Performing Arts Center.

Speakers include:

  • David Hayes-Bautista, PhD – Director of the Center for the Study of Latino Health & Culture at the UCLA David Geffen School of Medicine.
  • Matthew Fienup, PhD – Executive Director of the Center for Economic Research & Forecasting at California Lutheran University.

A panel discussion following the speakers will be moderated by Jorge Mercado, Co-Managing Editor for the Pacific Coast Business Times. He will be joined by a group of community and business leaders who will share how they’re seeing the impact on a local level:

  • Rebecca Evans – Executive Director of the Workforce Development Board of Ventura County;
  • Dr. Cesar Morales – Superintendent of Schools for the Ventura County Office of Education;
  • Dr. Gagan Pawar – Chief Executive Officer for Clinicas de Camino Real;
  • Miguel Noriega – Financial Advisor at Edward Jones.
